The Beer Bottle Temple in Sisaket

Wat Lan Khuat (วัดป่ามหาเจดีย์แก้ว in Thai), also known as Wat Pa Maha Chedi Kaew or The Temple of a Million Bottles, is a contemporary Buddhist temple in Khun Han district of Sisaket province near the Cambodian border.
The original temple has been built by monks and is made of over 1.5 million (Heineken and Chang beer)  empty recycled glass beer bottles.
The construction was initiated in 1984 when the Buddhist monks began collecting bottles.

Decorated with multicolored bottles, this eco-friendly Buddhist temple has found an environmentally green way to reuse and recycle beer bottles.

@Nart. You didn’t tell me that you donated to build there 😉
